How To Make A Successful Job Interview

Welcome to a new working day_Monday! The busiest day for the employed, and another regular day for the unemployed.
The number of unemployed citizens in Nigeria is increasing by the day, and if something is not done about it, Nigeria will turn into a stable unemployment country. There are only but a few jobs available, and one has to be on his toes to grab these Jobs.
Job interview is one of the most important elements in the job search process, this is why you need to be at your best in other to nail the interview, and get employed.

The job interview is a strategic conversation with a purpose. Your goal is to show the employer that you have the skills, background, and ability to do the job, and that you can successfully fit into the organisation and its culture. The interview is also your opportunity to gather information about the job, the organisation, and future career opportunities to figure out if the position and work environment is right for you.
Most employers do not hire people based on merit alone. Personality, confidence, enthusiasm, a positive outlook, excellent interpersonal and communication skills count heavily in the selection process.

Steps You Will Need

* Prepare your CV in a standard, well organized format.

* Research about the company that is holding the interview: this will give you an overview of who they are, what they stand for, and who they would likely employ.

* Practice what you will say during the interview: Ask a friend to give you constructive criticism on your speaking style, mannerisms, and poise.

* Arrange every necessary document you will need for the interview the night before, sleep early to wake early.

* Dress corporately and moderately.
First impressions matters. Women should avoid wearing too much jewelry or make up. Men should avoid flashy suits or wearing too much cologne.

* Be punctual: Arrive about 20 minutes earlier than the scheduled interview time, so you have enough time to re-read your résumé, catch your breath, and to get ready to be interviewed. Once you’re at the office, treat everyone you encounter with respect.

* Be bold during the interview, and don't be afraid to ask the interviewer a few questions after the interview.

Congratulations! You just nailed this interview.

But If after attending five interviews on a particular field you haven't received a call back on any. Then I advice you stop searching for a job, go upgrade yourself/CV and try again. If it doesn't work after 3 more interviews, I think its time you create your own jobs and employ others.

 Have a blissful week ahead!
