Acrimony: Hell Has No Fury Like A Woman's Scorn

I'm a sucker for movies, mostly romantic ones with a happy ending. And so after seeing the trailer of the movie, Acrimony by Tyler Perry, I concluded I had to see it ASAP even though I perceived it didn't have a happy ending.

I sat quietly with my popcorn almost untouched as I watched Taraji P. Henson, the star actress narrate her story. Damn! That shit is deep!

First, I didn't tear up, but my chest was doing me somehow all through the movie and long after the credits stopped scrolling, I kept pondering about this thing called LOVE. By the way, what's up with Taraji and sacrificing years for love and marriage? 17 years in Jail in the movie, Empire and 18years financial/emotional investment in Acrimony.

Anyways, I didn't sleep off while watching Acrimony even though it was kinda slow, rather I picked up one or two things from the movie.

1. Love is actually blind, stupid but real.

2. It's good to be sensitive to red flags even when you're deeply lost in love.

3. Forgiveness is the key to happiness, revenge breeds more pain.

4. Being broke is a mindset.

5. Your ideas are worth more than you can imagine, giving up on them is not an option.

6. Patience is a virtue.

7. One minute of unfaithfulness can ruin centuries of trust.

8. Emotional trauma is more deadly than HIV.

9. The most hurtful investments are not in cash but in kind.

10. Be a man and get a job.

I could go on and on, but I need you to see this movie for yourself to understand why Acrimony remains my No 1 Romantic Tragedy in 2018.

Also, Tyler Perry and Taraji P. Henson deserve an Oscar for that movie. It took Taraji's great acting skills to interpret the script into a classic piece.

If you've seen the movie, drop your thoughts in the comment box. Do you think Taraji is to blame for the divorce?
